With Ruth Woodbury

Wed 19 - Fri 21 July, 10am - 2:30pm
(3 days)

Children: 6 - 11

Take a trip back in time before Captain Cook arrived, to explore the many changes of the Waitakere Ranges. With korowai to keep warm, piupiu to perform, calabash to carry wai, create ‘Tales of Tiriwa Turehu’: supernatural beings of mostly ordinary stature who will inspire. Mixed media artefacts and costume will create our marae environment. Building up over 3 days, we will finish up with the traditional shared kai and an entertaining performance with whanau and friends.

Patterns and Prints

With Katie Smith

16 Sep17 Sep10:00AM - 4:00PM

Adults

This weekend offers an inspiring and instructive step-by-step approach to fabric printing. Over the two days we will dye some fabric, and screen print, stencil and stamp patterns onto it. Colours will be carefully mixed into something fabulous, and we will learn about pattern repeats. By the end of the workshop you will have several squares of your printed cotton to take away--perfect for whipping up into your own unique cushions or crafts.
