Artist Eloiza Montaña will guild you through the process to make your own Stirling silver earrings, exploring the inclusion of semi-precious stone or glass beads. Discover a history of pre-Columbian adornment and the relationship of metals within ancestral societies.

This workshop is open to all caregivers who would like to attend with their babies of up to 2 years old. Bring your littles ones and learn this new skill.

Following Faifai's practive of incorporating elements of her Samoan and Māori heritage while intertwining what she's thinking or feeling that day, we'll also take inspiration from our heritage and current states.

You will learn to look closely and draw from observation as well as use your imagination. The focus this term is on colour–blending, mixing and all things imaginable. We will create a ‘butterfly colour wheel’, draw still life, paint sea-scape, print bugs, collage and assemble, all works will be inspired by colour. At the end of the 6 weeks, you will have created your very own colour reference book to take home.

Let’s invent new shapes for jars! They might look like an animal body with its head being the lid. Or what about making a jar in the form of a rocket? All works will be fired and ready for collection before X-mas.

Solar Plate is a simple and safe approach to traditional etching. Light sensitive plate is exposed with UV light and developed with ordinary tap water; there is no use of grounds, acids or solvents and it is an environmentally friendly technique.

Art clay copper is a clay material that can be used to make a range of jewellery. The copper clay compound allows for kiln firing and vastly reduces the firing time. Learn sculpting techniques and the basics of jewellery design as you create your own pieces using this unique form of copper. Over the two days participants will create a beautiful copper ring and pendant or earrings which can be set with a stone if desired.

The class offers the opportunity to experiment with a variety of modelling techniques under the guidance of experienced tutor Kairava Gullatz. Students will discover their individual way of handling the clay, as well as enjoying a social creative environment. Surface decorations with slips and glazes are part of the teaching.
