This will be a fun, instructive and creative class. We will be making a variety of fabric printing blocks and cutting our own stencil designs. Over the day, we will experiment on some calico fabric and by the end of the workshop you will have several squares of your printed cotton to take away - perfect for whipping up your own unique cushions or crafts. Colours will
be carefully mixed, and we will learn about pattern repetition.

Throughout this 6 week adult class, we will be learning about the assembly of different elements, all made from clay, into a sculptural vessel. Each pottery technique supports a certain form or shape that will lead to a treasure trove of components which can be used to build unique vessels. Students will discover their own individual way of handling clay and experiment using a variety of modelling techniques under the guidance of ceramicist Kairava Gullatz, while sharing creative time with fellow students. Surface decorations with slips and glazes will also be taught.

Suitable for beginners, this workshop is great for those wanting hands-on learning, using a range of mediums and materials. Charlotte will demonstrate options to combine pencil, charcoal, watercolour, gouache and different inks to work through the possible moods and effects whilst helping you to develop and extend on your own abilities.

Summer School 2018. This illustration workshop will be an inspiring exploration of drawing techniques with some gold leaf embellishment. Over the 4 days participants will start with warmup sketches, moving into the technicalities of lien drawing. Illustrations will be developed using tonal gradation in a realistic style or the use of pattern, with finishing touches added in the form of gold leaf or colour in gouache.
