 Playful Perspectives of NZ Nature

Playful Perspectives of NZ Nature

With Jean Stewart

Wed afternoons, 4:00PM - 5:30PM
Wed 1 November - Wed 6 December, 2017

Children: 8 - 14

Inspired by the colours and perspectives in the bush paintings of Australian artist William Robinson, we will use oil paints to make our own playful versions of NZ nature. We will look at how he changes the usual perspective of a scene and layer up our paintings to create bush artworks that are half imagined, half real. Learn to work with oil paints in this fun programme.

 Assembled

Assembled

With Kairava Gullatz

Thu evenings, 6:00PM - 9:00PM
Thu 2 November – Thu 7 December, 2017

Adults

This class is now fully booked.

Throughout this 6 week adult class, we will be learning about the assembly of different elements, all made from clay, into a sculptural vessel. Each pottery technique supports a certain form or shape that will lead to a treasure trove of components which can be used to build unique vessels. Students will discover their own individual way of handling clay and experiment using a variety of modelling techniques under the guidance of ceramicist Kairava Gullatz, while sharing creative time with fellow students. Surface decorations with slips and glazes will also be taught.
