Get truly expressive with textiles in this fun one-day workshop that will teach expression and individuality through stitch!
Using material off-cuts and swatches, beads and specialty threads, we'll create gorgeous tactile embroidered artworks that can be hung on the wall, or sewn onto other surfaces later on.
Experienced tutor Alexandra Murphy will guide us on how to select our own natural fibres, felt scraps, buttons and yarn to compose our designs, and then learn the techniques for ways of embroidering and stitching our creations into place. Plus, the hoop is yours to keep so you can continue embellishing your creation by adding more layers at home!

In Henderson Park there lives a colony of Pekapeka-tou-roa—tiny bats flitting through the night, feeding on insects and roosting in the giant ancient trees. In this workshop, students will explore the habitat and behavior of our native long-tailed bats before creating their own zoetrope.
