Rainbows After Rain

Construct beautiful cloud creations that incorporate tukutuku and lashing techniques, embellishing with colourful felt and tissue paper floral forms.

Spray paint dried seed pods and harakeke flowers, combining natural fibres and beads collected from old necklaces to form droplets of rain that move in the breeze.

The building of these unique designs is inspired by the joyful clouds of Sione Monū, an artist of the Tongan diaspora who explores nimamea’a tuikakala, the Tongan fine art of flower designing and floral patterns.
