In this fun and engaging painting workshop, students will become more experienced with the qualities of watercolour, enhancing their understanding of techniques and skills to produce a small-scale series of works. Colourful exploration of form will be supported by step-by-step demonstrations and plenty of individual attention. Many different brush types will be used on quality paper to observe and record natural fauna.

In Henderson Park there lives a colony of Pekapeka-tou-roa—tiny bats flitting through the night, feeding on insects and roosting in the giant ancient trees. In this workshop, students will explore the habitat and behavior of our native long-tailed bats before creating their own zoetrope.
