Workshop
In this playful workshop students will turn sounds from te ngahere, the forest into marks. Discovering and inventing how to represent the sound of things visually.
Students will be guided through a series of exercises stretching their visual vocabulary and opening pathways of creativity. They will also learn technical printmaking skills and get to run their prints through our big printing press.
The collaborative half of the lesson will draw inspiration from the ways trees sense their surroundings and grow upwards together, each finding their own space as they reach for the light. This workshop pulls together a variety of media and techniques designed to keep students engaged and inventive.
Note: All artworks made in this workshop will need to be left at Corbans to dry for a few days. Arrangements will need to be made to either pick up or deliver the artworks a week later.
