Mono Relief Printing

This five-day print workshop with Pōneke, Wellington based multimedia visual artist Sheyne Tuffery is designed for individuals seeking to create striking prints, employing both traditional and experimental techniques in both colour and black-and-white.

Introducing participants to the joy of printmaking, we'll cover the traditional rules of the print studio from the inception of an idea to the creation of finished relief mono-prints.

Utilising the texture of found objects, both natural and manmade; we’ll delve into the art of relief printing and innovative image transfer techniques using water-based inks. With a particular focus on woodblock printing and the intricate craft of chiselling, we will blend these techniques, allowing creative freedom to produce original images, and one-of-a-kind prints.
