Are you an Eagle, Parrot, Dove, or Owl? Maybe you’re more like the clever Kea, or the mysterious, nocturnal Kākāpō. In this engaging workshop, you’ll get to choose your winged hero and bring them to life through paint!
Using acrylic paints on MDF boards, you'll start by creating a dynamic texture with a modelling compound and palette knives. Then, jump into painting detail, exploring vibrant colours and cool techniques to capture the spirit of your chosen bird.
Will you paint the mighty Haast’s eagle, soaring high in the sky, or the peaceful Dove, a symbol of love and harmony? No matter which bird you choose, you’ll learn to depict their wings and bring out their unique personality. Get ready to spread your creative wings and let your imagination take flight in this fun, hands-on workshop!

In Henderson Park there lives a colony of Pekapeka-tou-roa—tiny bats flitting through the night, feeding on insects and roosting in the giant ancient trees. In this workshop, students will explore the habitat and behavior of our native long-tailed bats before creating their own zoetrope.
