 Introduction to Screenprinting on Fabric

Join visual artist Romina Ortega in a 6-week introductory screenprinting class and learn the fundamentals of this serial reproduction technique. 

This printmaking technique uses a mesh stretched on a frame as a stencil. The stencil can be generated with drawings, photographs, collage, etc, and in this hands-on class, you will learn the complete printing process on textile using screenprinting. We will explore the most basic concepts through the direct experience of printing and creating your own handmade stencils.  

While the focus is on practical application, we will also delve into the theory behind some more advanced stages of the process, ensuring you understand the diverse concepts and different approaches to this expressive method. 

If you’re looking to expand your textile art skills,this workshop will equip you with foundational knowledge and hands-on experience to bring your designs to life on fabric.

All screenprinting materials provided, including calico fabric. Students should also being their own textiles to print on (pre-washed t-shirts, fabrics, tea towels etc)
