Workshop
Starting with the basics of canvas preparation, students will be encouraged to move through a series of stages of experimentation with oil painting techniques to the final realisation of a finished painting. The class will cover combining observational drawing with more painterly concerns.
Drawing proportions, tonal values and colour will be a focus.
Students are asked to bring along an image of the person you wish to create a portrait of.

Kites that fly our words high up in the sky. This workshop takes cues from the rich history of Protest art in Aotearoa, and asks young people what they would want to say and then gives them the tools to fly their words high for everyone to see.
