Workshop
Take a new approach to sketching using distance and space to become aware of your drawing movements.
In this drawing workshop guided by practicing artist Verity Kindlaysides, sweeping gestures will be either limited or exaggerated, with mindfulness informing our mark-making. We'll be experimenting with charcoals, chalks and inks on a range of paper textures within varying time constraints.
With an indoor/outdoor flow to the workshop space, learning will be accelerated through multiple iterations of observational drawing exercises where freedom of expression reigns.

Kites that fly our words high up in the sky. This workshop takes cues from the rich history of Protest art in Aotearoa, and asks young people what they would want to say and then gives them the tools to fly their words high for everyone to see.
