Interior Motives: Mapping memories and moments

This fun, liberating workshop explores the unbounded world of mixed media. Looking at contemporary artist Njideka Akunyili Crosby, participants will observe the methods, concepts and approach the artist takes, her use of materials and methodologies to convey a nostalgic sense of time and place.

In composing your works, you will combine drawing, printmaking, painting and collage assemblage techniques. Mixing photographs from personal archives with images from newspapers, magazines and books, participants will create a number of distinctly unique works that capture moments and memories that shape our lives. Suitable for the novice through to the advanced practitioner. Let curiosity and play be your guide.

*Bring along several personal photographs, and found materials that relate to your images eg. swatches of fabric, ticket stubs, jewellery, a shell, written word etc.
