Workshop
This workshop takes inspiration from the legacy of the renowned NZ artist, Bill Hammond. We discuss his remarkable aesthetic and his perspectives on Aotearoa's landscapes and diverse inhabitants.
The first part of the workshop focuses on printmaking and dying techniques, where students will create the necessary materials for a bird mask. The latter part of the workshop enhances 3D making skills by assembling the bird mask. Students will have the opportunity to recreate and reinterpret characters from Hammond's paintings, crafting their own unique bird masks.
