In this Matariki workshop, participants will delve into the enchanting realm of Waitī, the celestial guardian of freshwater and its hidden inhabitants.
Explore the rich biodiversity of native and endemic critters dwelling in our freshwater ecosystems and engage in an immersive creative experience. Through a fusion of painting and printing techniques, they will craft a vibrant mixed-media artwork, unveiling the interconnected beauty of our rivers and lakes. An inspiring journey that blends creativity with ecological awareness.

Available weekdays 10am - 1pm.
Class length: 3 hours (including 20 minute break).
Group size: Up to 60
We cater to any class size, however groups of less than 35 students do incur a minimum fee based on materials and educators’ time.
Classes can be held at Corban Estate Arts Centre, or at your school by arrangement.

Kites that fly our words high up in the sky. This workshop takes cues from the rich history of Protest art in Aotearoa, and asks young people what they would want to say and then gives them the tools to fly their words high for everyone to see.
