Tupuārangi - Kai in the Sky

In this Matariki inspired workshop tamariki will learn about the Matariki star cluster, focusing on Tupuārangi, the star associated with kai (food) that comes from the sky, primarily fruits and berries and ngā manu (the birds) that feed upon them.

Tamariki will each create a vibrant caran-d'ache pastel drawing of a manu sitting amongst its native berry food source. They will finish by learning about whenua paint (natural clay pigments) and will use this to reveal the Matariki night sky around their manu.
