Class
Students will move out of the workroom for the morning, taking time to look closely at the natural world around them. From the wispy clouds in the sky to the ants on a concrete pathway, they will record their surroundings using pencil and paper. Inspired by these observations each child will then compose a painting, looking closely at the details of sun and shadow, completing their mixed media artwork with collaged details to represent the textures, shapes and colours discovered.

Kites that fly our words high up in the sky. This workshop takes cues from the rich history of Protest art in Aotearoa, and asks young people what they would want to say and then gives them the tools to fly their words high for everyone to see.
