 Unthought
Shelley Simpson, detail of Unthought copper (2020)

In Unthought, Shelley Simpson uses electroforming to release copper from human made shapes, allowing the copper atoms to reform into their own configuration. In a way, the process is a reparative action, drawing attention to the question of how we behave towards others, be they human or other-than-human. How can we learn to live well together? How can we build a future that is more equitable and more respectful of all of the entities that we share the planet with?
