Huìyì – Hui: a ceramic painting circle

Join artist Cindy Huang for a ceramic painting workshop and a friendly discussion around themes explored in her practice inspired by her ongoing exhibition project, A Footnote on New Zealand History.

Paying homage to the historic market gardens around Aotearoa that were sites where many Chinese and Māori relationships were cultivated, Cindy invites participants will choose a ceramic kumara or bok choy which they will paint. The ceramic will be fired a second time, and the finished pieces will be available for collection a few weeks after the workshop.
