For their tenth year in service, Give a Kid a Blanket is kicking off their winter campaign early this year to try and get warmth where it is needed before the worst of winter sets in.
Give a Kid a Blanket is a community activated art action of kindness led by social practice artists Bernie Harfleet and Donna Turtle Sarten (both former Corban Estate Arts Centre residents, with Bernie now also a member of our Board).
The Give a Kid a Blanket Winter Campaign is an annual call for donations of warm winter items that are distributed to those in need via carefully selected frontline community agencies. Give a Kid a Blanket is completely volunteer operated and fuelled by their Community of Kindness. Corban Estate Arts Centre assists their cause in a small way by being a drop-off location for community donations during their winter appeal.
