Painted and Stitched in Flight

Join visual artist Alexandra Murphy for a fun, painting and embroidery school holiday workshop specially designed for 9-15 year olds. In this hands-on session, students will bring birds to life on fabric by studying images and models to capture fine details. They’ll learn the secrets of ‘value painting’ by exploring lights, darks, and midtones with playful, expressive brushmarks.  
 
Then using a mix of cotton, embroidery floss, and wool, they will learn a range of simple, visually effective stitches to highlight features on their birds - creating movement, and adding texture to their final design.
