 Forests of the Deep Sea

Dive into Aotearoa’s ocean depths with this immersive painting workshop, where creativity meets marine science! Students will create paintings inspired by kelp forests and the fascinating creatures that inhabit them.

We’ll explore scientific details of native underwater flora and fauna, building knowledge about marine ecosystems. Our painting process mirrors the changes in color and light as depths increase, using materials like sponges and branches to bring texture and life to these underwater scenes. This workshop connects scientific curiosity with artistic expression, offering a vivid exploration of New Zealand's marine biodiversity.
