The Art of Calligraphy

Immerse yourself in the timeless art of calligraphy. This 6-week hands-on evening class introduces you to the fundamentals of beautiful writing - from understanding the anatomy of letters, learning calligraphy styles, to developing your own unique style.
Through guided demonstrations and plenty of practice, you’ll explore traditional techniques, composition, and creative expression. The course concludes with a personalised final project of your choice, which the tutor will guide you through step by step, helping you apply your skills to create a finished calligraphic artwork you’ll be proud of.

In this pottery fundamentals workshop, we will take a scientific journey into the formation of clay within the earth - finding inspiration in the layers and patterns found in the rocks and water that combine to form clay. We will create a vessel with a lid that can double as a wall hanging or a taonga.
