If you were to share the story of how your family came to live in Aotearoa, what would that look like? Inspired by the work of current exhibiting artist Guy Howard-Smith, this workshop is focused on sharing your own unique family stories. Using mixed media techniques of illustration, you will be led in creating a tapestry like work on paper using colour and line to depict your whakapapa.

Hosted by our resident glass artist Sofia Athineou, you will be taught how to make a relief scene made from plaster by pressing natural and found objects into clay. The next step is to pour plaster into your clay cavity where your scene them becomes 3 dimensional. This kids workshop is an introduction to developing your understanding about positive and negative spaces.
