Corban Estate Arts Centre’s annual Open Arts Day provides the perfect opportunity to see behind the scenes of this creative community in the heart of Te Kōpua Henderson.
Highlights of the day include:
• More than 20 artists, arts collectives and arts organisations opening their studio doors on the day. There may be opportunities to purchase work directly from artists too!
• 3 unique exhibtions - Past Visions and Te-Kahu-O-Rangi in the Homestead Galleries and our special one-day-only Neighbourhood Exhibition in Projectspace.
• Artist Kōrero sessions featuring sculptor Julie Moselen; Sistar S’pacific aka Rosanna Raymond MNZM, Salvador Brown and Francesca Contaldo of Ana Pekapeka Studio; Liz Mitchell MNZM & the Wool Revolution Studio, and more to come - stay tuned for times and details!
• Free collagraph printmaking workshop with the CEAC Education Team - design your very own collagraph printing plate of critters that live in the freshwater streams, rivers and wetlands of Aotearoa, and then have it printed through our large printing press. All ages welcome.
• Live painting at Kākano Youth Arts, VR dance performances and video work with Atamira Dance Company in the Opanuku Studio, an open rehearsal of Tales of a City by the Sea in the Cellar, poetry reading by Penny Howard and Doug Poole in Projectspace, and much more!
Whether you’re an artist yourself, an art enthusiast, or have never visited us before, come along and be inspired and get involved in all the creativity happening in our neighbourhood!
