Matariki Waitī Evening Market

This year at Corban Estate Arts Centre, we’re celebrating Waitī — the star of Matariki that represents fresh water and the life it sustains. Join us for a magical evening honouring this kaupapa through creativity, connection and community.

Wander through our indoor evening market in Shed 2 and explore stalls from talented local artists, makers and creatives. (Please note: stallholder applications are now closed.)

Celebrate Waitī through a range of free craft activities, including:
• Making your own screen-printed tote bag
• Fun and educational eel-themed crafts
• Recreate your own Matariki constellation in the Black Room — a hands-on, messy experience for tamariki and curious minds!

Keep warm by the brazier while enjoying delicious hot kai from food trucks.

Be amazed by fire performances from Mana Le Afi, joining us again after their powerful display at Kids Arts Festival in April.

Connect with our whānau from Kia Puea Te Reo Ūkaipō on the whāriki for kōrero, waiata, kanikani, tākaro, and pānui — a beautiful way to reflect, celebrate, and come together.
