Queering Twilight: A Blackout Poetry Workshop

Drop by between 10-11:30am to join Blackout Poetry Aotearoa in their quest to transform the Twilight series into a visually spectacular text! The series has sparked debate since its publication, including for a lack of queer representation.  

That’s where you come in! Help us turn this controversial text into something that Kristian Stewart herself would be proud of. Materials and guidance provided – just bring yourself, and the intention to unleash chaos on vampires, werewolves, and the unsuspecting town of Forks.  
 
Thanks to a generous donor, we will have all the Twilight books available for use. We are hoping to collect many blacked out pages, and eventually create a visual installation from – participation in this aspect is entirely optional. 

We encourage everyone to attend and get creative, whether queer or not, and explore Twilight in any unexpected way.

This workshop is suitable for under 18s, as long as accompanied by a parent/guardian.
