Traditional batik is an ancient art form practiced by many peoples around the world. In this one day workshop we will be using a cold water wax resist to draw imagery on cotton cloth. The resist is applied using brushes, pipetts, stencils and stamps. The non-toxic dyes will then be hand-painted onto the fabric using water colour techniques. Each artistic cotton swatch will be able to be framed or stitched into a handkerchief.
Please note, the 3 hour steaming process making the colours permanent, will be completed later by the tutor and your finished work will be ready for collection in May.
